Linda Carpenter was born on September 16, 1952 in Louisville, Kentucky. Her parents were married in Egypt. Carpenter graduated from a small-town high school in Kentucky at age 16. She attended both the University of Kentucky and New College in Sarasota, Florida on art scholarships, but eventually dropped out of college to become a fashion model in Los Angeles, California. Linda was the Playmate of the Month in the August, 1976 issue of "Playboy." In the wake of her Playmate stint Carpenter embarked on a brief acting career.
