Lera Boroditsky (born 1976/77 in Belarus) is a cognitive scientist and professor known for her research in the fields of language and cognition. She is currently one of the main contributors to the Theory of Linguistic Relativity.
Lera Boroditsky is an assistant professor in the Psychology department of the School of Humanities and Sciences. She received a degree in Cognitive Sciences from Northwestern University (B.A. with Honors, 1996), and her Ph.D in Cognitive Psychology from Stanford University in 2001. Most recently, she was awarded the McDonnell Scholar Award, as well as the National Science Foundation (NSF) Award.
