Description: Lea Michele was born Lea Michele Sarfati on August 29, 1986 in the Bronx, New York. She is the daughter of Edith, a nurse, and Marc Sarfati, a delicatessen owner. Her mother is Italian American and Roman Catholic, while her father is a Spanish Sephardi Jew. Lea was raised Catholic. She grew up in Nanuet, NY and Tenafly, New Jersey. She attended Rockland Country Day School for elementary school in New York and then Tenafly High School. Michele was home schooled one year while working in Toronto, Ontario on Ragtime. "Yes her voice is good but so was other Glee cast. Her audition showed her personality to a t. I can see her bullying or tattling behind the scenes so she got the solo on the show. I loved the Michael Jackson in the white suits on Glee because she wasn't it."
