Laura Freddi (Rome, 19 May 1972) is an Italian showgirl, TV presenter and singer.
Launched by the first two editions of Non è la Rai and by an edition as a tissue of Striscia la notizia, she has been successfully working as a TV presenter and showgirl for all the nineties and for the first half of the two thousand years, participating in television programs such as Festivalbar, Il Quizzone, Occhio allo specchio! and Super. Subsequently she was the female face of three editions of Buona Domenica, then presenter of event evenings dedicated to fashion and cinema and then landed on Vero TV where she remained until the fall of 2013. In 2016 she took part in the VIP Big Brother in fifth place.
Graduated in accounting, she began to be known at 17 years old, in 1989, when she won the International Teen Agers Competition in Cavalese, which brought her to the attention of the film industry. A year later she was called to play a part in Adolfo Lippi's film Ottobre rosa all'Arbat.
In 1992 was the television debut (in Fininvest) by Gianni Boncompagni, who launched her in the program Non è la Rai, in which she remained for two seasons with a leading role. After moving away from Non è la Rai, together with the presenter of the second edition and his future companion Paolo Bonolis, she conducted the summer program Belli freschi.
Having established herself as a television face, she started an intense activity in 1995, which lasted for a whole two years: Occhio allo specchio, Segnali di fumo (on the now disappeared Videomusic together with Paola Maugeri), Striscia la notizia (velina together with Miriana Trevisan, already a colleague on stage in Non è la Rai) and the Festivalbar 1995, together with Amadeus and Federica Panicucci. On this last occasion he also presented the song Per non volare, written by Enzo Iacchetti and Carmelo Carucci and contained in the mini-cd Tempo di vita, which also contained the homonymous song and another song, Brividi freddi.
In 1996 he joined Gerry Scotti and Natalia Estrada in the program Il Quizzone and is present in I guastafeste, together with Luca Barbareschi, Massimo Lopez and Cristina Quaranta. Then, in 1997, again Il Quizzone with Scotti and the unique conduction of the musical program Super.
In 1998 he conducted Il Quizzone for the third time together with Amadeus, and then moved on to Rai, where he took part in the television series Una donna per amico. In 1999 he conducted on Rai 2 the show Portami al mare fammi sognare with Alessandro Greco, and from 1999 to 2001 he conducted on Raitre several first nights on the Circo Massimo.
Back in Mediaset in 2001, she was part, until 2005, of the cast of Buona Domenica together with Maurizio Costanzo, Claudio Lippi and Luca Laurenti. Dino Risi also directed her in 2002 in the television film Le ragazze di Miss Italia, inspired by the beauty contest of the same name. Meanwhile, in the summer of 2003 he conducted Zelig Tour 2003, a summer tour of the cabaret program of the same name, together with Claudio Bisio.
In July 2004 he conducted an evening dedicated to Gabriella Ferri, who passed away shortly before, from Piazza Navona, on air on LA7. Afterwards, for the 2004/2005 season, she continued to collaborate indirectly for Buona Domenica playing a role in the sit-com Il Condominio, on air within the program.
In 2005 he presented Woody Allen's concert in Rome; in February of the same year he conducted Aspettando San Valentino, while in December he presented the music show Festeggiando; both aired on LA7.
On June 8, 2006 he conducted an event within the Reggio Calabria Film Fest, during which the film Bal-Can-Can, the first Italian-Macedonian co-production, had its national premiere.
In October of the same year she appeared in Canale 5's fiction, I Cesaroni, with Claudio Amendola.
Starting from the second half of the 2000s, the showgirl began to work as an evening presenter, in particular for events concerning fashion and cinema, and was successful in two radio programs.
On January 28, 2007 she led the Kids for Kids charity fashion show and at the same time became the testimonial of the advertising campaign of her husband's company, Claudio Casavecchia, Ediland. She then separated from her husband in 2008. In the summer of 2007 she was the host of several evenings of the festival Notti di luna caprese. In December of that year she conducted at the Teatro Brancaccio, A gentile richiesta mi faccio in 4, an interactive concert by Gigi D'Alessio.
From January to June 2008 she edited a weekly poetry column in the Stella programme, conceived by Maurizio Costanzo, on Sky Vivo. In addition, on April 13 and 14, 2008 he conducted the show Wella in the Cosmoprof of Bologna with numerous guests including the reigning miss Italy Silvia Battisti. On August 3, 2008 he also presented Miss Fiumicino Top Star on SKY, on channel 933. On 22 and 23 April 2009 led the opening nights of the Reggio Calabria Film Fest Retrospective on Italian Cinema. On February 18, 2010, from the Palladium theater in Rome, presented the evening event Happy Birthday Garbatella Nostra, to celebrate 90 years of the Roman neighborhood.
Since July 24, 2010 she also debuted as a radio host presenting every Saturday on Rai Radio 1 No comment, flanked by Georgia Luzi and Arianna Ciampoli.
In December 2010 she revealed to Tgcom that she gave up Saturday Night Live because it wasn't a suitable program for her and that she preferred the radio in which she returns in February 2011 with Sanremo? No comment on Radio 1. In April 2011, after the success of the first 2 editions, the daily version of "No comment" with Laura Freddi Georgia Luzi and Arianna Ciampoli starts from Tuesday to Friday from 2.45 pm to 3.30 pm on Radio1, which ends at the end of June.
On 28 and 29 May 2011 she is the only presenter of the "Reggio Calabria Film Fest 2011" which hosts among the high Pupi Avati, Kim Rossi Stuart and Somma.
From July 4, 2011 to September 9, 2011 is the host of the flagship summer program of Radio 1 "Lido Laura". In September 2011 she also published two songs on I-tunes "Hai Cambiato il Mondo" and "Sole Luna Laura" which were premiered on her radio program. The songs were written by singer-songwriter Enrico Boccadoro.
The return on TV and the film debut
Since June 11, 2012 she has been one of the presenters of Vero Capri, a digital terrestrial television channel together with other colleagues with whom she alternates in the seven hours of live coverage and in conducting fifteen new formats, under the artistic direction of Maurizio Costanzo.
In May 2013 she was chosen to work alongside Matteo Branciamore and Emy Bergamo in the short film Punti di vista by Pierluigi di Lallo, presented to the public on 19 September at Atessa and on 20 September in Chieti, before arriving in Rome, Canada and Australia at other festivals.
Since December 2012 she is also testimonial for ANT (Associazione Nazionale Tumori) and in the same period she is godmother for Il Ballo delle Debuttanti in the Sala Bianca in Florence, for two consecutive years.
At the end of 2013 she leads Vero in the kitchen together with Monny B every day at 5.30 p.m. on Vero TV, which in the Christmas period goes on air with the title La cucina delle feste.
In the following month of April, again alongside Monny B, he will conduct a new edition of Vero cucina, while in summer 2014 he will conduct the Premio Sinfonie d'autore, broadcast on Sky and on digital terrestrial television. He met Enzo Iacchetti in August of the same year with whom he conducted Cabaret Amore Mio, an experience repeated in 2015.
In October 2014 he begins to prepare a comedy Stressati... even more in which he will play a sexy patient.
From September 11 to November 6, 2015 she is a competitor of the program Tale e quale show, conducted by Carlo Conti on Rai 1. From January to May 2016 she resumes the theatrical tour of Stressati even more as the female protagonist of the comedy. On 5 and 6 August she will conduct for the third consecutive year the comic kermesse "Cabaret Amore mio" alongside Enzo Iacchetti. From 9 to 11 September 2016 she leads Evoli Festival together with comedian Massimo Carrino.
From September 19, 2016 participates as a competitor in the first edition of the reality show Big Brother VIP qualifying fifth with 33% of votes. From January to May 2017 is among the protagonists of the play "Ricette d'amore" directed by Diego Ruiz. In April 2017 is one of the mentors of the program La5 Now I'm the boss! In the fall of the same year she is one of the contestants of Celebrity Bake Off aired on RealTime.
In 1992 she has a relationship with her colleague Paolo Bonolis, known during the experience of Non è la Rai. Then she has a relationship with footballer Fabio Galante and host Daniele Bossari. In 2006 she married Claudio Casavecchia, from whom she separated in 2008. He has a daughter, Ginevra, born on January 3, 2018, had by his partner Leonardo D'Amico, physiotherapist of the Italian national beach volleyball team.
