Lara Johnston is an American singer-songwriter. Lara is the daughter of Doobie Brothers founder Tom Johnston.
Graduated early from the prestigious Marin Academy in San Rafael, California. She deferred enrollment to New York University, University of California - Berkeley, University of Southern California, among others, to focus on her singing career.
In 2011, Johnston was an 'American Idol' participant, getting eliminated at the 'group round' stage of the competition.
