Karl Pruner was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He is an actor and writer, known for La prueba (2003), Destellos de genio (2008) and Total Recall 2070 (1999). He has been married to Joanna Bennett since 2007. He was previously married to Sharon Jackson.
He began his professional acting career as a member of the National Arts Centre English Theatre Company in 1977, and has appeared on stages across Canada including the Stratford Festival.
In 2005 he was elected President of the Toronto chapter of ACTRA (The Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists).
