Karen Gillan was born Karen Sheila Gillan on November 28, 1987 in Inverness, Scotland.
Gillian is an actress and former model. She is best known for the role of Amy Pond, companion to the eleventh doctor, in the BBC science fiction series Doctor Who.
Gillan was raised by her father John (a care worker) who lived in Inverness and her Mother Marie who live in Kimlees. She attended school at Charleston Academy. Aged 16, she decided to pursue her acting career further, studying acting at Edinburgh's Telford College.
