Hernangomez made the jump to the NBA in 2016 when he was drafted in the second round by Denver Nuggets. He was a rotation player primarily during his time in Denver, which ended after three and a half seasons when they traded him to the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2019. Hernangomez stayed in Minnesota for one and a half seasons where he was a part-time starter.
