Jan "Poki" Müller-Michaelis is a German writer, musician, director and video game designer from Hamburg. He is also the co-founder of the German video game software development and publishing company Daedalic Entertainment.
Jan Müller-Michaelis studied media technology at Hamburg University of Applied Sciences where he produced his first video game, Edna & Harvey: The Breakout, for his diploma thesis. Müller-Michaelis worked intently on the project and ended up taking on many of the jobs by himself, such as writing, illustrating, animating and programming the game.

In 2007 he co-founded the company Daedalic Entertainment along with Carsten Fichtelmann which allowed him to finally publish Edna & Harvey: The Breakout. As the creative director, Müller-Michaelis has since been responsible for the production of other adventure games like A New Beginning, The Whispered World and Deponia. With such titles, the company has won plenty awards, including Der Deutscher Entwicklerpreis (The German Video Game Developer Award), the Lara Award, the Red Dot Design Award, the children's award Der weiße Elefant (The White Elephant) and the Deutscher Computerspielpreis (German Computer Games Award).
In the spring of 2016 he was on tour with the three-piece music group "Poki & Band" with Gunnar Bergmann and Anne Baumann whom he had previously only performed with at Gamescom 2013 and 2015. The band played in Hamburg, Berlin, Cologne and Düsseldorf. They toured under the title "Deponia Doomsday Tour". With Gronkh as a guest star, they sang a special edition of the song Nadel & Faden from the game Edna & Harvey: Harvey's New Eyes while in Cologne.
