James Schram was born in New York City, NY, and grew up in Boca Raton, Florida.
After graduating university and upon returning to Manhattan, Schram began his professional career doing stand-up comedy, while studying with The Studio & Susan Grace Cohen. He performed bit parts in several television shows and feature films to earn his professional membership in SAG-AFTRA. Shortly thereafter he won the starring role in the dramatic film, Insidious and subsequently the co-starring role in The Camera's Eye. Recently he reprises his starring role as Donny, in the Insidious TV Pilot, and continues to book supporting roles in film
