Jackson Galaxy, born Richard Kirschner on the Upper West Side of Manhattan,[2] legally changed his name when he was in his twenties. He has a Master of Fine Arts in acting.[1] Galaxy learned cat behavior through his work with rescue cats,[1] originally with the Humane Society of Boulder Valley, Colorado.
