Jack Mahrt was born in Dayton, Ohio. Later the family moved north of Dayton to the city of Piqua. Jack attended and graduated Lehman High School in Sidney, Ohio. He has a degree in radio/tv broadcasting-communication arts. Mahrt is a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was deployed in combat overseas. After his service in the Navy, Jack returned back to Ohio to work in law enforcement. For a period of time, he was employed as a corrections officer at the Miami County Sheriff's Office in Troy, Ohio.
