Born in 1969, CHIANG graduated from Taipei National University of the Arts in Directing and the Screenwriting program at the Graduate Institute of Filmmaking. She is experienced in every aspect of filmmaking, from directing, producing to sound mixing. During college, she was cast in Edward YANGโs A Brighter Summer Day (1991) and was nominated for the Golden Horse Awards for Best Supporting Actress. She has worked as a reliable assistant director for HOU Hsiaohsien and Edward YANG in films like, A Confucian Confusion (1994), Flowers of Shanghai (1998), Millennium Mambo(2001) etc.
