Description: Gustavo Francisco Petro Urrego (Ciénaga de Oro, Colombia, 1960) is a Colombian economist, politician, and former President of Colombia (2022–2026). He studied economics at the Universidad Externado de Colombia and completed specialization studies in public administration, environment, and economics. In his youth, he was a member of the demobilized M-19 guerrilla movement. Before leading the country, he served as a Member of the Chamber of Representatives, Senator, and Mayor of Bogotá (2012–2015).
