Sizemore graduated from Cascade High School in Everett, Washington, in 2000. A high school star in football, basketball, and baseball, Sizemore signed a letter of intent to play football and baseball at the University of Washington. At the time of his high school graduation, he was Cascade's all-time leader.
Sizemore started his professional career with the Montreal Expos in 2000. Two years later, he was part of a six-player trade between the Expos and the Indians. Montreal dealt him to Cleveland Indians.
In 2006, Sizemore had perhaps his best major league season to date. He was selected to his first All-Star Game as a reserve outfielder. Overall in 2006 Sizemore batted .290 with 28 home runs and 76 RBI.
Sizemore quickly established himself as one of baseball's up and coming stars in center field. He was named the leadoff hitter of the Indians lineup, and has stayed there since.
Sizemore is finding it harder these days to avoid the trappings of fame. Racy photos of him were leaked on the internet in 2009 that made him even famous but he says he would rather do without.
"I just want to play, relax and have fun," says Sizemore, who spends most of his time away from the ballpark at his modest condominium in historic Ohio City. "I just want to stay low-key."
Good luck. Young, with good looks, the charisma of a matinee idol, Sizemore is fast becoming as big a hit in Cleveland as the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
