Description: Grace Metalious was an American book author best known for her controversial novel "Peyton Place", which, upon its publication in 1956, became a phenomenal bestseller despite critical scorn. It was made into a film the following year by 20th Century Fox and the film garnered many Oscar nominations. Her other novels were "Return To Peyton Place"(which was also made into a film), "Tight White Collar" and "No Adam In Eden".
