Description: Syrian film star Ghassan Massoud has appeared in numerous films in his native Syria, including Haytham Hakky's Memories of the Forthcoming Age, and Unshudet alMatar (The Chant ofRain), a romance set in rural Syria during the 1940s, directed by Basil alKhatib. He recently wrote and directed a satirical play, Diplomasiyyaun (The Diplomats), which touches on the problems of leadership in the Arab world and played as part of the Syrian Ministry of Culture's National Theater's 2002 season.
