Description: Born on 12 May 1993 of Spanish and British descent, Gemita has a background in horse riding and swimming, she was also on the national winning team (Bristol Central) for synchronized swimming in 2006. She also has a keen interest in Show jumping and has recently been manager of an equestrian stud in Wiltshire. Gemita's parents; Alejandro Samarra (From Reus, Tarragona) and Diane Samarra (From London, UK) have influenced Gemita's lifestyle massively, having both worked in the circus in Spain, her mother as a professional dancer and trapeze artist, her father as a stage-hand, lighting technician and performer. Gemita has clearly inherited her parents daredevil ways, and so has her brother- Adrian Samarra, who introduced Gemita to adventurous sports from an early age. Adrian has also taken up his passion for climbing and is now an established film maker for extreme sports. Gemita started modeling in her final years of high school (Brimsham Green School), doing a couple of hair competitions and fashion shows. This then led to her being scouted by a Bristol modeling agency- Room 3 Agency. Realising that modeling was really taking off, Gemita then applied for more agencies around the UK, London and even internationally, where she was signed to top Swiss agency- Metro models. It was through modeling that Gemita was assigned her first 'underwater shoot'- Sky Living's Bedlam 2 (2011) through her sport agent at the time (Sports Promotions). They were looking for a synchronized swimmer or at least someone who was very comfortable underwater. This role suited Gemita perfectly and it was here, after speaking to the stunt co-coordinators (Paul Heasman and Lee Sheward) she decided to think about training to get on to the stunt register. Having already been a successful swimmer and horse rider, and also doing most of the required stunt category sports as a child, the decision was clear to Gemita to work as hard as possible to become a stunt woman; choosing disciplines- Kick boxing, trampolining, horse riding, rock climbing, scuba diving and swimming. Since Bedlam (2011) Gemita has worked on many big sets such as Rush (Ron Howard), Fast and Furious 6 (Justin Lin) and most recently Pressure (Ron Scalpello). She has done numerous underwater shoots since her 'Ghost in pool' act, such as 'The Siren' - an award winning art installation by Laura Jean-Healey, shown as a live 3D hologram in Kinetica Art Festival 2012.
