According to its own estimates as of 2014, EA generated over $130 million in revenue since the game's release. Tapped Out was delisted from the App Store and Google Play on October 31, 2024, while users who have the app downloaded would be able to continue playing the game without the ability to make in-app purchases until January 24, 2025, after which the game would be permanently discontinued and become unplayable.
