Star Trek: ConQuest Online - PC Games

The object of the game is to use a selection of predetermined and accumulated pieces, built from a range of recognisable characters from the Star Trek: The Next Generation series, to conquer worlds and galaxies and beat online opponents. During online combat you don't have the benefit of getting help from the computer's pre-programmed skills, making the game a continuous challenge, even for masters.

Initially starting with a selection of pieces you have the opportunity to accumulate more pieces by winning battles and trading pieces with other players. This adds a grater level of gaming strategy, as just like chess, some playing pieces are more powerful than others.

Online games are becoming more popular, with Ultima Online being one of the more recent, and this is a great addition to this market, though this type of game is not for everyone. It is very different to playing Quake III or Unreal Tournament online, but for the Star Trek fan who wants to think a bit, this is a great way to meet people online it will allow them to take it one stage further than the encyclopaedias. --Robert Hyde
