Star Trek: Birth Of The Federation review

Posted : 17 years, 2 months ago on 11 February 2007 03:02

Now this is what I call a Turn Based Strategy!

I can't remember why or how I got this game but it was worth every penny. This re-vitalised my knowledge and taste for Star Trek. Introducing all those races, cultures, technologies and hardships of an intergalactic traveller. It even had 3D space battles which was the icing on the cake.

I love the fact that each major race was different and needed its own style to control well. Federation were suckers for diplomacy and science, Klingons wanted any excuse to start a fight, Caradassians loved subjugating the minors and spying, Ferengi just breathed on profit and the Romulans were a friendly mox between Cardassians and the Federation. Even the minors had their own personalities, that's what I call detail!

I really hoped for a sequel but it doesn't look hopeful from the originals. However, some inspirational lil chaps have started to make their own Birth of the Federation 2, Check out Wikipedia for a Link to their site.
