Mostly the same as the original game, just with a new campaign map and everything. Not really as fun as the original, though.

For years, barbarians lived in the shadows of the once mighty Empire, but now the hordes have set their sites on the ultimate spoil of war, Rome herself. Only complete victory will sate their bloodlust. Players can tear Rome asunder by leading hordes of barbarians like the Franks, Saxons, Huns and Goths or stand and defend the Empire as a leader of one of the tow former Romes, the Western and Eastern Empire.
