And given that it provides 40 international voice sets, with over 25,000 recorded phrases and over 100 airline and aircraft call signs, there is enough variation to make it all sound like the real thing---you will hear American accents when flying into Half Moon Bay and English when cruising over Kent. By default your voice, as well as the air traffic controller's, is provided by ProFlight 2000. However, given a headset, you can make use of the 30-day trial version of Game Commander provided with ProFlight 2000 and actually issue your commands verbally; whereupon the controller replies.

Just to make it crystal clear, this program is an add-on to Microsoft's most recent version so don't buy this product unless you have FS 2000. Even then, don't buy it if you just use FS to fly inverted under all the bridges around Manhattan. On the other hand, if you are the sort of FS user who meticulously plots and executes blind approaches using the navigation simulations for which FS is justifiably famous, then this is a must-have add-on. And of course you will be the sort of person who just has to get the full version of Game controller as well, so warn your family to expect to hear you talking to your computer from now on. --Mark Whitehorn
