It's 1925 and for those who can afford to live a little, the good times have never been better. The sound of jazz is in the air, Wall Street has yet to crash and the champagne is flowing like...well, champagne.
A small group of committed party-goers is on its way for a weekend at the races at Oldmarket. A couple of hours out from London, however, the train runs into a snowdrift. They might well be stuck all night. Even more concerning is the fact that when they gather in the dining car for a spot of dinner, Tim O'Shatner - one of the company - is missing. He is subsequently found in his sleeping compartment. He is dead.
One of you is a murderer. Your task is to identify that person. Or, of course, to evade detection. Luckily, you have the benefit of Flapper McClue, the celebrated amateur detective, on board to assist you in your investigations.
The suspects are:
ARTHUR 'FIDDLER' FARQUHAR - The cousin of the murdered man, arrived from Scotland only yesterday on his first visit to London, he seems a little out of his depth in this society.
BERTIE ROOSTER - The best friend of the murdered man and, like him, a carefree bachelor-about-town.
DAME AGATHA EIDERDOWN - The aunt of Bertie Rooster, a ferocious and domineering woman who can inspire fear in the bravest of men.
PENELOPE PITT-PONY - The brightest of London's Bright Young Things, the original It Girl. Engaged to Bertie Rooster.
MAY VEST - A visiting American writer. Fantastically wealthy, she's renowned for her colorful private life and biting wit.
SISTER WENDY MILLER - Formerly a familiar figure in London society, she suddenly withdrew to a nunnery last year. Much to the surprise of her former friends, she has recently taken Holy Orders.
PADDY O'LAY - A professional gambler with a reputation for knowing everything that's happening in the world of racing. No major meeting is complete without his presence.
MUSTAPHA M'STACH - Beyond the fact that he is from the Middle East and somehow connected to racing, no one knows a thing about him. Being a man of mystery at the time of the murder is a very suspicious thing...
