In addition, players don't have to play alone; they can team up in ad hoc mode with up to 3 other players for group questing and monster hunting. With Monster Hunter Portable 2nd, developer Capcom promises a game twice as big as the original, meaning you can spend countless hours hunting and gathering on your PSP.
Like in the original Monster Hunter, players don't gain experience points or levels. Instead, they gain real experience, learning the game mechanics and developing strategies to kill the various beasties you'll encounter. Players also gain new weapons and armor, which are essential to killing the tougher creatures. Monster Hunter was a game about collecting - defeating a monster means you've notched it on your belt, but don't worry, there are probably plenty more you haven't killed yet. As in the first game, there are also side quests and numerous activities, helping give the game's lush, graphically amazing world even more life. The game doesn't even end after completing the many missions. Capcom promises new downloadable mission in the PSP's infrastructure mode, which expands replay value even further!
