Originally Kuju Entertainment was to develop the sequel to Train Simulator, but Microsoft removed them as developers and gave that task to Microsoft Game Studios. Kuju responded by released rival Rail Simulator in 2008 thru Electronic Arts. In 2009, Microsoft canned the studio that was working on MSTS2 as well as future Flight Simulator releases. Future of this title is uncertain.
