The last player to do so gets a mild (battery-powered) electrical shock. A players will also shock themself if they prematurely push the button while the light is still red.
Lightning Reaction Reloaded has two game choices: The original Lightning Reaction game in which the slowest reaction gets the shock. It also features Lightning Reaction Extreme, the option where everyone playing gets the shock except for the fastest reaction.
In this generation of the game, players have the ability to pre-set the intensity of the shock. You've got that namby-pamby cousin visiting you? You can now dial down the intensity of the shock to what we'd describe as a "tickle". Are you at a party and want to show off your tolerance for pain skills? Dial that sucker all the way up and party down, my friend! Note: The highest level of shock is the same as it would be if this feature were not on the game.
The game is powered by three AAA batteries, so the shock isn't dangerous, but it certainly adds an element of tension to an otherwise simple test of reaction speed.
