After choosing to run the game either in full screen mode or in the background in a separate window--ideal for playing while you are supposedly working--you are presented with a start-up option where you can choose your gaming experience (novice, intermediate or expert) and the character you want to play. The game boasts lots of different characters all with their own player graphics and characteristics.

The game's level of intuition is quite good and if you're a new player you'll find suitable levels to get you into the game and winning quickly. Experts might find this a little unchallenging with a dependence on dice-rolling rather than sheer intelligence of gaming prowess.

In all, this is a good addition to the Hoyle range and if Backgammon is your niche then this will certainly charm you for some time. --Jason Denwood
