In my opinion, this was the definitive 'civilisation evolution' game on the market. There are so many more units available than in other games of the same genre, you really are spoilt for choice. There's just something about it that makes it much less of a chore to play than Age of Empires.

Way too Hardcore for me. I'm sure the Hardcore RTS crowd loved, but I was a little cowed by its intimidating complexity....

The campaigns were kinda cool, as far as storyline go, although they were too hard for me get very far. I like the Greek campaign for all its awesome primeval primitiveness, and the Russian campaign, although absurdly difficult in an already absurdly difficult ... read more
