The eight-way dance steps (standard up, down, left, right as well as the four corners) and routines are suitable for all levels. You choose from single player, two-person and eight-player consecutive modes, and there are four progressive difficulty levels to work through. However, absolute beginners may find it challenging--the tutorial mode is basic, and not as comprehensive as Dancing Stage's, so dance mat first-timers may find that starting out with eight steps is a little daunting. Other features include an aerobic mode and a step recorder allowing you to record, save and dance your own routines. Plus, you can compare high scores on Xbox Live.

There's no faulting the selection of dance tracks--whether you're a pop, hip-hop, old skool or R&B fan there's a full-length dance tune with your name on it. Artists include Mis-Teeq, Liberty X, Sugababes, Daniel Bedingfield, Rachel Stevens and Jamelia. NB: the karaoke option requires an Xbox Live Communicator Headset.--Amber Pring
