1987 NCAA Championship Indiana vs. Syracuse - Other

March 30, 1987 New Orleans, Louisiana On March 30th, 1987 the New Orleans Superdome played host to the 1987 NCAA National Championship game between the #1 seed from the mid-west region, the Indiana Hoosiers and the #2 seed from the east region, the Syracuse Orangemen. Indiana beat UNLV in a 97-93 shootout to advance to the title game and Syracuse rolled in a 14 point victory over Providence for their right in the championship showdown. The championship game was Syracuse s first title game appearance in school history and it brought Indiana s title game total to five.
