Fred Coe

Fred Coe was an American television producer and director most famous for "The Goodyear Television Playhouse"/"The Philco Television Playhouse" and "Playhouse 90". Among the live TV dramas he produced were "Marty", "The Trip to Bountiful" and "Days of Wine and Roses". Coe was also a film director and producer. His directorial debut "A Thousand Clowns" (1965) earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture. Coe also served in the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II.
