Federico Klemm was born in 1942 in Czechoslovakia, now the Czech Republic, the only son of a German industrialist and a Czech mother who moved to Buenos Aires in 1950.

Famous for his portraits of public figures, where beauty, power and glamor were the unifying symbol, Klemm had a high public and media exposure from the 1990s, while in silence he developed an activity of patron of art, unknown by the general public.
He opened his art gallery in 1992. In 1995, he created the "Fundaciรณn Federico Jorge Klemm" in this same location; In the opening ceremony, he clearly stated his purposes: โOur main effort is directed towards the global projection of contemporary art in Argentina, within a time of crisis of ethical, moral and spiritual values, where the traditional canons of art are being diluted. art". "Among the essential precepts of our foundation is that of promoting young people, especially those who have a pictorial vision that coincides with our global vision of art based on the spiritual needs of man."
He became known to the general public for the provocative behavior he performed on his television program El banquete telematico, broadcast by the cable channel Canal (ร) and hosted by him together with the critic and theorist Charlie Espartaco. From this, he gave dissemination of the great themes of the history of universal art together with the most outstanding expressions of Argentine plastic. The purpose of these productions was to build in society an enriched view of the plastic arts in general and to reflect on its value, especially the life of contemporary man.
He died at the age of 60 at the German Hospital in Buenos Aires on November 27, 2002, after two weeks of hospitalization due to a surprise pneumonia.
