Description: Actress. Born to Myrtle Belle Miller and Clarence Webb, Chief of Police in Santa Monica California. As a child, she studied dance and was rated an expert swimmer and fine equestrienne before leaving school. In June of 1927, after a series screen tests, she signed a contract by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. Her career never amounted to more than bit parts, however. She met band leader Rudy Vallee while he was making “The Vagabond Lover” in 1929, while she was still living at home.They were married in 1931, and she abandoned her career to move with him to New York.
