Evelyn Pearl Shuck (stage name Evelyn Daw) was best known for the movie she made with James Cagney entitled "Something to Sing About". Cagney remarked many years later that besides "Yankee Doodle Dandy", his favorite musical that he appeared in was "Something to Sing About". She married Steward H. Smith, (1913 - 1975) retired from acting, and lived in San Diego for many years.
She grew up in Geddes, South Dakota where she began singing in public at the age of 10 and appeared in many church and high school shows before attending South Dakota Wesleyan and Fresno State College in California. After m
