Eva Lys was born in Kyiv, Ukraine. She moved to Germany with her family at the age of two. Her father, Vladimir, is a former tennis player who represented Ukraine in the Davis Cup and is now her coach. Eva has an older sister, Lisa Matviyenko, who was also a tennis player.
Eva began playing tennis at the age of five and has since built a successful career, reaching a career-high singles ranking of No. 105 in September 2024. She has won three singles titles on the ITF Women's Circuit and continues to make strides in her professional career.
