Erica Van Briel is a Belgian-born model now based in Canada. She began modeling in Paris at age 19 and soon became a fit model and muse for Thierry Mugler in the late 1990s. Van Briel walked in Mugler’s Couture shows in 1997 and 1998 as well as his Ready-to-Wear show in 1996. She also appeared in Paco Rabanne’s 1999 Couture show and was featured in Ché magazine in 1996. Van Briel is most noted for wearing Mugler’s iconic “nipple ring dress” in his Spring/Summer 1998 Couture collection.
