After the lockdown of the global pandemic, Janes directed, wrote, and shot The First 280 Honest Words of My Life (2022), which earned her the Rising Star Award at the National Film Festival for Talented Youth and Best Experimental Film at The All American High School Film Festival.
Janes then sought to make a global difference again through film with her short A Woman and an Envelope[1] (2023) about a young woman who is the victim of a high-profile sexual assault case. Janes' following film, Mr. Baxter(2023) was made in partnership with the Manhattan Film Institute. During this time, Janes began her work with Julian Felix Aaronson and his production company, Nitwit Entertainment, as cinematographer on Where is Bones (2023) and producer on The External-Internal Monologue of an Interdependent Insomniac (2023). Her next films The Derivative Outlook on Love from the Perspectives of Two Sixteen-Year-Olds(2023) and Happiness in the Palm of Her Hand(2023) come out in the new year.
