Najica Hiragi, the heroine of this 2001 broadcast series, is a world-famous perfumer--and a top-flight secret agent who fights assassins, kidnappers, and androids. Although she already has a battery of Batman/Honey West-style gadgets, Najica gets the ultimate mechanical device in the second episode: Lila, an android "Humaritt." Lila is extraordinarily powerful, but childish naive, like Chi in Chobits. However, she learns fast and is soon dispatching villains at Najica's side. Their sci-fi adventures are flimsy at best, but they include lots of "fan service" visuals. Whether the characters are fighting a gun battle, lying unconscious, driving a car, walking through a door, or clobbering someone with a karate chop, director Katsuhiko Nishijima frames the shot to reveal their panties and/or cleavage. Hormonal adolescents are the only audience likely to find Najica entertaining. (Rated 17 and older: violence, nudity, alcohol use, sexual situations, including suggested lesbianism) --Charles Solomon
This collectors' edition includes DVD 1, an Artbox for the entire series AND an exclusive pair of white cotton Najica Blitz Tactics bikini-cut panties! (If this doesn't make sense to you now, it surely will when you see the series...) As one of the world's top perfume designers, Najica Hiiragi works with her trusty assistant Kirala to develop the Day Series perfumes for CRI Cosmetics. When not jet-setting around the world, Najica tools around neo-Tokyo in a bright red convertible. Men love her. Women want to be her. But Najica has another job, one that few ever see: Secret agent for the CRI intelligence organization. Her boss is the cool, calculating Majima, and she gets field support from the lecherous, but technology-savvy, Gento. Najica's life gets complicated when she rescues a young girl, Lila, from the clutches of a depraved socialite and her machine-gun wielding maids. But Lila is no ordinary girl; she's a Humaritt, an android, and she is Najica's new partner! Together, Najica and Lila thwart a mob hit on the daughter of a judge, defeat an international playboy with a penchant for satellite weaponry, and discover the real reason teenage pop idols are so darn popular! Contains four complete episodes. DVD Features: clean opening and closing animation; production sketches; and Previews. Spoken Languages: English, Japanese, English subtitles.
