Since then, Lupin III has become a famous figure in Japan, and has spawned hundreds of popular comic books, and animated television shows and movies. Similar in many ways to James Bond, Lupin sports tailored suits and wacky gizmos, and stays witty under fire. Sometimes he seems bumbling or clownish, but when Lupin gets serious, there isn't a valuable in the world safe from his schemes.
