Douglas Fairbanks built his career on peppy five-reelers like "His Picture in the Papers," scripted by John Emerson and Anita Loos. It pokes fun at both the vegetarianism craze, and the modern American obsession with fame. More than anything, though, it's a showcase for Fairbanks and his cheerful, energetic personality, as he plays a young man who can win his sweetheart's hand if he can only manage to get himself famous in a hurry.
