i feel like i've heard this story...kinda...

a fun romp through shakespeare's romeo&juliet with ample reworking. half the time you'll forget that the story you're watching is so well known. as well elton john's reworking of some of his own works makes the score for this a bit like deja-vu.

no need to tell the plot other than here its two yards full of gnomes of a different color. one yard is red gnomes, the other blue. and you know what happens from there.
some really unusual characters in there as well. a mushroom is totally mute despite being a main character. and a lawn flamingo from an abandoned yard adds another dimension.

cute, clever, funny and fun. what more could you ask for? well its not spot on comedy. it could have done a lot more with these characters and as far as sequels go they'd have to reach far to carry on with these characters as well.

so its not perfect? its still good.
