In 1305, just over two years since first beginning work in the Scrovegni Chapel in Padova, Giotti finished painting the series of frescoes depicting the history of Mary and Jesus culminating in The Death and The Resurrection of Christ and The Universal Judgment. in the Spring of 2002, after 20 years of scrupulous preparation and almost a year of actual work, the restoration of one of the most famous frescoes in he world by the Florentine master has been completed.
This DVD documents the complete history of the frescoes of the Scrovegni Chapel and includes exceptional images of its restoration.
