Would-be stage star Eleanor Powell masquerades as a Parisian singer in order to win a part in producer Robert Taylor's latest play in "Broadway Melody of 1936." With Buddy Ebsen, Una Merkel, and Jack Benny as a scheming newspaper columnist; tunes include "You Are My Lucky Star," "Broadway Rhythm" and "Sing Before Breakfast."
