The sequel to Crest of the Stars (1999), Banner of the Stars (2000, a.k.a. Celestial Banner) builds toward its climax during the war between the forces of the Abh Empire and United Mankind. As in the earlier episodes, the storytelling is spotty at best, with the filmmakers devoting too much time to long and ultimately pointless conversations.
