Dick Purcell was born on August 6, 1905 in Greenwich, Connecticut, USA. He was an actor, known for Captain America (1944), Mystery House (1938) and Heroes in Blue (1939). He was previously married to Ethelind Terry. He died on April 10, 1944 in Hollywood, California, USA.
On 4/10/44, after finishing a round of 18 holes on the golf course, he went into the locker room to change but never came out. He was found slumped over a couch from a massive heart attack.
Has the distinction of being the first man to play Captain America on the screen.
