When Toronto-born vocalist Deborah Cox hit the music scene in the mid '90s she was billed as the second coming of Whitney Houston. A former background vocalist for Celine Dion, Cox built up a career as R&B songstress, and her self-titled debut was released in 1995. By 1998 her album One Wish featured the single “Nobody’s Supposed to Be Here,” which was the longest-running number-one single in the history of Billboard’s R&B chart. In recent years, Cox has switched over to the dance/techno music genre and in 2004 she made her Broadway debut in the Elton John musical, Aida.
