Description: David Pearson, nicknamed the “Silver Fox,” was one of NASCAR’s most legendary and efficient drivers. Born in Whitney, South Carolina in 1934, Pearson began racing in the early 1950s and quickly rose through the ranks. He earned NASCAR’s Rookie of the Year title in 1960 and went on to win three Cup Series championships in 1966, 1968, and 1969. Known for his strategic brilliance and calm demeanor, Pearson rarely ran full seasons but still amassed 105 career wins—second only to Richard Petty, despite competing in less than half as many races.
