Cliff Allison (born February 8, 1932, in Brough, Westmorland, England) was a talented British racing driver who competed in Formula One from 1958 to 1961. He began his career in Formula Three with a Cooper 500 in 1953 and was soon spotted by Colin Chapman, joining Team Lotus and helping secure their first F1 World Championship point with a sixth-place finish at the 1958 Monaco Grand Prix.
Allison later raced for Ferrari, where he achieved his best F1 result - second place at the 1960 Argentine Grand Prix. He also excelled in endurance racing, winning the Index of Performance at Le Mans in 1957 and finishing second at Sebring in
