Christopher Priest was a British novelist and science fiction writer. His works include "The Prestige" (1995), "Fugue for a Darkening Island" (1972), "The Inverted World" (1974) and "The Separation" (2002). Priest was strongly influenced by the science fiction of H.G. Wells and in 2006 was appointed Vice-President of the international H.G. Wells Society.
